Leading Families Home helps families who are experiencing homelessness to find affordable housing in Toledo, Ohio. We do this through a very specific process that includes everyone in our organization, from Development to Operations and everything in between. We also rely on a network of landlords, both private and commercial, to help us house our Participants.
Affordable housing isn't always easy to find in Toledo, Ohio. Nor is it easy to find landlords to work with. Many of our Participants have evictions on their records, and this can be a significant barrier to finding safe and affordable housing.
However, we have found a number of local landlords who want to help the Toledo community by providing housing to those experiencing homelessness. In fact, we couldn't complete our mission of helping families facing homelessness achieve financial independence and housing stability without our landlords.
As a landlord who works with Leading Families Home, you'll have our support and commitment to making things seamless for you. As an agency, we offer monthly case management and home visits for all families, guaranteed rent (with exception of Participant co-pays), tenant education workshops and tenant – landlord mediation.
We treat our landlords the right way, with respect and dignity. We look for those who are seeking an opportunity to help their community and to support our Participants on their way to independence.
Though not every landlord-tenant relationship is perfect, Leading Families Home has an excellent reputation in our local Toledo community for our professionalism and willingness to work things out if there are any challenges.
Just recently, one of our Housing Inspection Specialists shared this story:
"I spoke to a landlord the other day about another property she owns, she told me that a Participant we housed in one of her units last summer is her favorite tenant."
We love hearing stories like this, because being a landlord or a tenant can be challenging at times.
