Our Behavioral Health program includes evidence-based trauma-informed behavioral health, education, employment, therapy, substance use disorder (SUD) treatment resources, case management, and aftercare. Our Behavioral Health team works with our Participants, beginning at intake to our shelter, during the housing process, and for two years after they have found stable housing.

TRAUMA-INFORMED CARE

Many of those who have experienced trauma react in ways that we may not understand. Trauma-informed care seeks to understand the individual by asking "what happened to you" instead of "why did you do that?"

Trauma-informed care focuses on developing and nurturing therapeutic relationships with Participants. We utilize a wide-range of evidence-based treatments, such as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Functional Family Therapy.

EMPLOYMENT EDUCATION

Improvement in income is a critical component of our time-sensitive housing programs and the long-term housing stability of those we serve.

Our Employment Solutions program provides the opportunity for unemployed program Participants to work one-on-one with our employment specialists to gain and maintain employment.

Our work-readiness based program supports families and individuals through counseling, vocational training, education, work referrals, and a variety of other resources that impact employment.

CASE MANAGEMENT

Case management is an integral part of our program at Leading Families Home.

Case management means that each Participant in our shelter receives one-on-one support and guidance from our team of educated and experienced case managers.

Our case managers provide educational and emotional support, practical help with everyday matters, and aftercare.
