Parking Lot Project - Help Us Raise Funds

Leading Families Home • April 16, 2025

Our Ashland Ave. Shelter Needs a New Parking Lot... Desperately!

Leading Families Home is beginning our Parking Lot Project TODAY! This project has been in the works for quite awhile as we've sought funds and grants to repave our parking lot. Currently, repaving is underway, but we still need funds to cover the additional costs not covered by grants.

The parking lot at 2283 Ashland Ave., Toledo, is in disrepair. It has not been updated for years, and the damage is significant.

Our side entrance, where our staff enters our shelter, has never been paved. Currently, our staff walks across two large mats laid atop gravel. The paved area of the parking lot is crumbling and worn down to the base in many spots. The lot is uneven with large holes in the asphalt.

Not only is it in disrepair, it also hinders the safety of those visiting and residing in our shelter. Most of our Participants are children. Additionally, many of our Participants are older or have disabilities, including those who use canes, walkers, and wheelchairs.

Our goal is to make our parking lot safe and accessible for all who use it.
