Leading Families Home would love the opportunity to be nominated to be in the running for Best of Toledo Charity/Nonprofit!
Why should you nominate our organization, Leading Families Home, for Best Charity/Nonprofit in the Best of Toledo nominations?
We've opened a second emergency family Shelter, Beach House Ashland, in Toledo at 2283 Ashland Ave., Toledo, OH. This Shelter offers refuge for up to 75 additional individuals, in addition to Beach House Erie at 915 N. Erie St., Toledo, OH.
The second reason to nominate our organization for Best Charity/Nonprofit is because of our amazing staff! We have a full team of educated, experienced Case Managers and Housing Inspectors, as well as our Administrative Staff of HR personnel.
Leading Families Home has served Lucas County for over 100 years. In 1921, Beach House Shelter was established by Helen "Beach" Jones, the wife of Major "Golden Rule" Jones. (Learn more about our history here.)
Our organization has grown from one emergency family shelter, established in 1921, to Leading Families Home after merging with F.O.C.U.S. in 2016. This merger expanded our services. Our services were once again enhanced and expanded by the merger with Providence Center in 2021.
Leading Families Home now offers two emergency family shelters, housing, and trauma-informed case management, behavioral health, education, and employment services.
