So many of our Participants, donors, volunteers, and team members use Facebook to keep up on the latest happenings throughout Toledo. And we’re no different! Leading Families Home posts regularly to Facebook to connect with those who matter – YOU! We also follow leaders in our community, including Toledo homeless shelters that are making a difference. @BethanyHouseNWO
From Bethany House’s Facebook Page:
Domestic violence destroys lives. There’s no easy escape, but there is hope. Bethany House offers the safety and time victims need to rebuild their lives.
Bethany House provides the long-term safe shelter and resources Northwest Ohio area victims and their children need to safely rebuild their lives in the wake of an abusive relationship. While most homeless shelters offer limited, short-term stays, Bethany House is the only area organization to offer long-term, apartment-style transitional shelter, combined with emotional, spiritual, and financial support. We’re also different because we tailor our programs to the unique situation of each individual. Each adult victim and every child who enters the safety of Bethany House holds a special place in our hearts. Bethany House is a sponsored ministry of the Sisters of St. Francis of Sylvania, Ohio and is a member of Sylvania Franciscan Ministries. Bethany House is also a proud member of Northwest Ohio Community Shares.

The mission of Preferred Properties is to develop, manage, and maintain accessible and affordable housing for persons with disabilities, seniors, and others in need that will facilitate opportunities to reside in livable communities.
People living with disabilities have always wanted to live on their own. Unfortunately, due to their disability, income level, and a lack of affordable and accessible housing in Toledo, their housing options were severely limited. In fact, a home of their own, in a neighborhood of their choice, seemed like only a dream. In the Spring of 1992, Preferred Properties was formed to make those dreams a reality.
