Lisa has had a very diverse professional background.
When asked how she went from being a business major with plans to make commercials, to working in transportation, and then to working with those in halfway houses, mental health/substance abuse treatment facilities, psychiatric wards, and homeless shelters, her reply is simply, “..but God.”
She believes everything she has done up to this point has been God’s way of preparing her for His kingdom assignment.
Lisa has devoted the past several years in the pursuit of helping those in her community, while simultaneously earning a Master’s of Science Degree in the Administration of Justice and Security, and a Master’s of Science degree in Psychology with a specialization in Behavioral Health.
She also holds a Graduate Certificate in Human Resources Management, a Chemical Dependency Counselor’s Assistant Certification, certification as an OhioMHAS Trauma Informed Care Train the Trainer, and American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor.
In addition, Lisa sits on the Lucas County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board, teaches high school Psychology and Criminal Justice classes at Emmanuel Christian School, and with their Trauma Informed/PBIS trainings. Lisa’s love for children doesn’t stop on Friday, as she is the lead over the Life Skills Teen Ministry at her church.
In her down time Lisa loves to travel and enjoys spending time with her family, friends, two puppies: a Chinese Crested Powder Puff named Denali, and a new Husky puppy named Zeus.
Lisa’s daughter, Alyssa Banks, has recently joined Leading Families Home as a Peer Support Specialist.
